Gifts of Stock

Gifts of appreciated securities provide financial support to CEP as well as tax benefits for the donor. If securities have been held for more than one year, the charitable deduction is the current fair market value. If the donated securities have gone up in value over the donor's holding period, a gift to CEP may be made without incurring a liability for capital gains taxes. To make a stock gift to CEP, this letter must be submitted to your broker authorizing the transfer of stock to an account established at Chase. The transfer instructions need to include the following:

• Donor Name
• Number of Shares
• Name of the Company
• Deliver to Chase DTC # 0352
• Chase Account # 73184484

Please provide CEP with a copy of your letter to the broker so that we can direct Chase to accept the incoming stock transfer.

We will send you a contribution receipt as the stock is received into the Chase account. Stock gifts are valued using the average market price as of the date the DTC transfer is completed, as per IRS rules.
