Ethics Guide for Volunteers
The Center’s ethics guidelines are designed to protect
our volunteers and those they serve.
- All volunteers must complete the Center's registration process, covering them under the Volunteer Protection Act of 1997.
- Center clients are entitled to privacy. Volunteers must keep client
information fully confidential. This includes disclosing that any
client is served by the Center.
- In order to provide clients with efficient, quality service, volunteers
must adhere to the responsibilities of their position as laid out in
their position description.
- Volunteers may not recruit clients for their own business. Volunteers
are able to refer clients to Center-approved services only.
- Clients cannot accept gifts, tips, payments or other items for services
provided. If a client offers a gift, a volunteer must refer the client
to the site manager or provide a Center donation envelope.
