More Giving Opportunities
For more information about the giving opportunities listed below, we encourage you to call the Center’s Development Department at (312) 630-0277.
- Employer matching gifts: Double the impact of your donation! Many companies match their employees’ donations of time or money to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, such as the Center. Some companies that have matched employees' gifts to the Center include:
- Allstate
- Aon
- Bank of America
- Baxter International
- BP
- Charter One Bank
- Illinois Tool Works
- JP Morgan Chase
- Kraft Foods
- Motorola
- Northern Trust
- State Farm
- Gifts of stock: Gifts of appreciated securities provide financial support to the Center for Economic Progress as well as tax benefits for the donor. If securities have been held for more than one year, the charitable deduction is the current fair market value. If the donated securities have gone up in value over the donor's holding period, a gift to the Center for Economic Progress may be made without incurring a liability for capital gains taxes. To make a stock gift to the Center, a letter must be submitted to your broker authorizing the transfer of stock to an account established at Chase. The transfer instructions need to include the following:
- Donor Name
- Number of Shares
- Name of the Company
- Deliver to Chase DTC # 0226
- Chase Account # CM2832936
Please provide the Center with a copy of your letter to the broker so that we can direct Chase to accept the incoming stock transfer.
The Center will send you a contribution receipt as the stock is received into the Chase account. Stock gifts are valued using the average market price as of the date the DTC transfer is completed, as per IRS rules.
If you have any questions, please contact:

- Bequests and other planned gifts: You can continue to impact the financial futures of low-income families for generations to come through a charitable bequest.
- In Honor and In Memoriam gifts: Send a gift from the heart. Honor a loved one for a birthday or anniversary or make a gift in his or her memory through a charitable gift to the Center.
- In-Kind Donations: Donations of time, supplies and other non-monetary items enable us to spend more of our operating budget on programs that help the families we serve.
The Center for Economic Progress is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. All contributions to the Center are fully tax deductible.
