Recent Victory

In 2007, the Center for Economic Progress and its national coalition successfully championed $8 million in first-time federal support for community Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs. VITA programs are responsible for returning more than $1 billion in tax refunds to the hard-to-reach communities that live deepest in poverty. Read more.
