On July 14, David Marzahl, the Center’s president, testified during a hearing of the United States Senate Committee on Finance. The hearing was called to discuss the future of individual tax rates and the effects on economic growth and distribution.

For working families, tax time is a gateway to opportunity

During the past 20 years, the Center has grown, evolved and overcome a variety of challenges. But one of the greatest challenges we've ever faced was the year 2009.

On April 10, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn visited the Center for Economic Progress’ tax site at Truman College to share advice with taxpayers and thank volunteers for their dedication to helping hard-working, low-income families across Illinois.

On Thursday, March 18, over 50 guests joined the Center for Economic Progress’ Board of Directors for an evening with Attorney General Lisa Madigan. The board-hosted event was a fundraiser for CEP's programs. Pictured above are CEP President David Marzahl, Attorney General Madigan and CEP Board Chair Nicol Turner-Lee.
