On February 16, 2013, Governor Pat Quinn encouraged working families to learn about how they can apply for newly-expanded tax relief and highlighted no-cost tax preparation services. The Governor continued his drive to get the word at Truman College, which serves as a tax assistance site organized by the Center for Economic Progress (CEP).

Walmart Supports CEP Mission

CEP welcomed Walmart to its family of sponsors on April 10, 2012. A generous donation from Walmart was announced at Harold Washington College, CEP’s Loop area free tax prep site.

On Feb. 4, 2012 Gov Quinn visited our Uptown tax site at Truman College. The Governor encouraged Illinois' working families to file their taxes in order to take advantage of the increased EITC. The recently passed legislation means larger refunds for hard-working, low-income families.
